The article discusses the methods of creating multi-layer map images for operational satellite monitoring systems based on web GIS technologies. The generated map can contain a set of raster and vector thematic layers of spatial data, additional information and reference layers of images at the bottom (base map-substrate) and at the top (label layer) of the user's thematic data. The client software provides interactivity of the created maps in a standard web browser. Setting the presentation parameters provides the ability to select the format of spatial data on the client, manage the display parameters (interactive legend, list of displayed attribute fields), and use custom templates to display tabular information on the layer objects. Users also can manage data access rights, various visualization options of layers and maps in a web browser, provide direct access to spatial data through standard WMS/WFS web map services and edit them through the web interface, download as shapefiles.
